Hi. I'm trying to find living descendants of Patrick or Francis O'Brien, of Myshall. I believe Francis passed away in the 60's and Patrick in 1993. Both (I think) were still living near Myshall. Franics was married to Catherine Kavanagh.

I have taken a DNA test that connects me to this family. I'm working with one of their distant cousins from the US, but she has no information that's more recent than Patrick's and Francis' generation.

Any help in putting me in touch with a current member of this family would be truly appreciated. I can be reached by email at ddobrien2@hotmail.com

Thank you,

David O'Brien

Go to the online Irish phonebook. http://www.eircomphonebook.ie/#

There are at least four O'Brien entries around Myshall. Make sure you use the Residential TAB.

  • Thank you Roger.

It may take me some courage to start calling those listed, but it is a start and I appreciate that.

If anyone knows any of the O'Briens in the area, they can certainly pass along my email - that way it shouldn't go against any of the privacy protections you have.

    Thank you again,

    David

You could also write to the addresses.

  • Thanks Roger, that's a better option. Also, when I expanded my search on the phone book site for all of County Carlow vs. just Myshall, I only got a couple of additional O'Briens. Are there truly that few O'Briens in the county or am I missing something? Thanks again.

There are 45 O'Brien entries in the online phone book for Co. Carlow. Make sure you use the Residential Tab. Of course, many phone numbers in Ireland just like the States are not in the "book".
