Afternoon
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in getting back to you!
Do you know what religion your ancestors were? There are some Church of Ireland records available on the irishgenealogy.ie site. Have you had a look at it yet in your research?
Best wishes

Hi Carmen:
Thank you for your query.
Would you consider creating an Ancestor profile for one of your Murphy ancestors? You might be able to find out more information by sharing what you have so that others researching the same families can see if they have any connection to you. The link to create an Ancestor profile is here: https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database
These profiles are updated weekly and are shared throughout our member database. There have been numerous connections made through the posting of this information that has assisted researchers with their own family history.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Jane

Hello,
It would appear that Thomas Murphy (1637-1688) was born in Co Wexford and died in Co. Carlow. His son, Daniel Murphy, immigrated to Charles County, Maryland most likely in 1679 in his teens or early 20s. Daniel Murphy was associated with the Anglican Church in Maryland. It's possible that Thomas Murphy's wife was of English extraction and a member of the Anglican Church as well. Thomas could have converted to Anglicanism before his son, Daniel, even came to the Colony of Maryland.
Thanks.
