KEOGH FAMILY HISTORY

Hi Catherine, 

Was Rose Ann Keogh born in Bailieborough & when did they move to Lancashire?  As Civil Registration did not start until 1864, I am looking for something that can link your family to a place or townland, did any other family travel with them?

I looked at the 1901 Census at Nationalarchives.ie but the name did not turn up, so more digging needs to be done.

I will do more searches for you & give you some directions when I have more information.

Hello Carmel,  Rose Ann was born in Stockport Cheshire in 1842. The Keogh's emigrated from Ireland to England before1838 as Michael and his fiancee Ann Donogan (b 1815) were married in Stockport, Cheshire  in 1838.  The details I have are that they settled in Hulme Lancashire(1851) and moved to Gordon, Lancs in 1871.   Michael's father was Edward who was born in Cootehill in 1788 - his wife was Catherine Bridget Clark 1790 - 1871.  Thank you for all your help with my family.  All the best from Kathryn in Perth Western Australia.

I looked at ancestry.co.uk & there is a tree called Robert Hewitts Family, maybe it is yours, but there is a Catherine Clarke married to Edward Keogh & her dates are the same, if not I suggest you make contact with them, the owner does not have their email on it, the owner is Jill, if you wish I could send her your email address for her to contact you, she has no logged in for 3 months though..
