Searching for information on the family of Rose Smyth Callahan born between 1793-1807.  Emigrated to the US in 1864.  Daughters were Ellen born 1816-1818, and Ann born about 1835, both born in Ireland.

Ellen Callahan (born about 1817) married John Gaffney (bn about 1815) in the 1840's.  Children: Bartholomew & Matthew born in the 1844's in Ireland.

    I looked at the 1856 Griffiths Valuation survey head of household data and found a Rose Callaghan in Dungummin Lower townland in Kilbride civil parish. I also located two John Gaffneys in Kilbride parish as shown below. The 1901 census data www.nationalarchives.ie showed five Gaffney families in Kilbride townland and one Gaffney family in Pollareagh townland.
