    Hi,

    Thank you for your message.

Do you have any other information that you can share? Information such as:

    ?         Parents/siblings/children

    ?         Religious denomination

?         Important dates such as birth/marriage to help establish a timeframe

?         Emigration details: did they emigrate, if so when and where to?

    ?         Occupations

Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you.

Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

    Kind regards,

  • William and Mary Jane (Smith) Faris were married in Kells, Co. Meath 26 Jan 1837. The Family was numerated in the 1841 Census living in Cloggy, with William listed as 32 yrs old working as a bleacher/farmer. Two daughters, Bessy and Jane Letitia were reported as 2 and 3 years old. Mary Jane Faris is buried in the churchyard at Christ Church Kildallon March 1900. There are Faris families numerated in the 1901 and 1911 censuses; Alexander and his wife Margaret lived in Cloggy while John Alexander lived nearby in Corr. Are either of these Faris men, sons or grand sons of William and Mary Jane Faris? One of Alexander Faris's daughters who died young is also buried in the churchyard at Christ Church Kildallon.

  • Thanks for reaching out,

I descend from MaryJane's younger brother George Robert Keating Smith. Love to learn your lineage from MaryJane and WIlliam. I live in Connecticut in the United States. A couple years ago I corresponded with Arvilla Faris who lives in Utah and learned a little more about that side of the family. I'd also like to know if you have any stories about our ancestors. I can be reached at laurachobbs@gmail.com.

    Your cousin, Laura
