I apologize, I posted in two other message boards I am looking for a very difficult common name I thought I may have found her in Wexford, but honestly Cavan makes the most sense. My Great Great Grandmothers Husband James came from Moynalty Meath which is practically next to Lurgan She was baptised on November 1 so that means she was born in October which ties in with my records. The only problem with this record is that it states her father as Laurence and Uncle as John (Sponsor) I was hoping it was an error but I doubt it I would think the priest knows his parishoners , there is a chance that her death certificate is wrong I have seen in my family over and over Ancesters using their middle names?
I also posted in Ferns with another Catherine Murphy who's parents are John, which is the name on her death certificate in NYC but I know she was born in October The other record is from Davidstown Ferns
I am hopeful that I may have finally found my Great Great Grandmother. Kate Murphy was born October 14 1846 to Patrick Murphy and Mary Doyle. I am hoping this is her. The name of the town is Davidstown and I can not decipher the name underneath the Baptismal entry it looks like Bosbason?? Kate came to USA in 1865-1866 to NYC and married my Great Grandfather James Sheridan They had 7 Children, 5 survived Patrick, James, John, Mary, Joseph (Peter) I believe there was a Joseph and Kate who did not survive If anyone knows anything about them I would love to hear back
Thank you Danny Sheridan NYC FDNY

The name Laurence looks to be correct since it is found in 2 other sources, which mention Lislea. The tithe applotment records for 1825 show a Laurence Murphy with just under 15 acres in Lislea.

Griffiths Valuation for 1856 lists Laurence Murphy on plots 18 & 19 in Lislea (parish of Lurgan) where he had a total of approx. 16 acres. Next door on plot 20 was Catherine Murphy with another farm. She’s likely a relation and probably a widow.
Can’t see a death for Laurence post 1864, regd in Oldcastle so possibly he died before that. (The re-valuation records may be able to tell you that).
2 Murphy farms there in 1901:

There’s a Murphy listed in the current phone book for Lislea, Ballyjamesduff. (I can’t give you the full details on this post due to our rules relating to posting personal information about living people but you should be able to find it easily enough). You might want to contact that person to see if that’s the right family and townland. (There’s several Lisleas in Cavan and I am not 100% certain whether this is the right one. I would have expected the address to be Virginia but am not local and so can’t be sure).
