Rob here north of Lake Superior, Ontario Canada, near Thunder Bay.
Robert Cooke, 1793 - about 1840, was a gardener on the estate of Sir Richard John Griffith. He along with brothers Richard, Joseph and probably Thomas Cooke decided to leave Ireland for Canada ca 1825. Robert ran off with Sarah Jane Griffith, age 16 who was apparently not happy at boarding school. Sir Richard was furious and he immediately and permanently disowned his daughter who fled with Robert to Brockville.
