There's a possibility I've found my Montgomery ancester in Drung, Cavan County. If this William is the right one, I believe he married Frances Matchett. Their son John (1806-1861?) would be my 4th great gf. I've only researched matches through Ancestry. William and Frances do show up, but can't make the connection correctly. Any advice would be greatly apprecated.

Sue,
Just to be sure...You believe the family tree is like this...
Francis Matchett m. Wm. Montgomery
/
Their son John, b. c1806, d. 1861?
Ancestry trees are not always reliable. What else do you know about the family? More details would be great.

Hi Patricia --
Yes, I believe my man is William Montgomery (born in Ireland February 1796 - died Drung, County Cavan 25 June 1817
I believe he was married to Frances Matchett (born 1776 in Ireland -- died 1836, I believe in Drung, County Cavan.
If I have the right family, their children were:
James
Margaret
Susanna
William
John (possibly my 3rd great grandfather) He may have emmigrated to Ontario, Canada -- no proof
Maryanne
Frances
Rebecca
George
Richard
I have a feeling I have the right family, but can't prove it. I do have a few DNA matches connected to William and Frances but perhaps those folks are making the same assumptions I am :)

I didn't know that the surname Montgomery has such a history, I have always wanted to change mine to Montgomery because I like how it sounds and it is a lot fancier than mine. Plus, I also use it as my nickname when I play online casino games. I am playing on this site https://wolfwinnercasino.com/ for many years as it is very easy to use and I like that it offers a lot of bonuses and payment options. And the most important thing is that it has a fast withdrawal.
