I'm looking for details about Helen (Ellen) Garrigan born 23 Dec 1864 in Seeharn who later emigrated to Dundee, Scotland.
Also her parents Thomas Garrigan (1845-1909) and Catherine Clark (1838-1910), and her siblings Frances (1863-?), Michael (1866-?), Thomas (1869-1956) and John (1871-1901).

I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and located baptismal records for five children: Frances 1863 Ellen 1864 Anne 1867 Thomas 1869 John 1871 The townland was Seeharan in Mullagh civil parish. I did not find a record for Michael.
Here is the 1867 civil birth record for Anne

I did not locate the marrriage record.

Oh that is so helpful - and gives me a lead to where to search for more. Thank you! Clearly I need to subscribe to Roots Ireland.

Hi Fiona,
I am also searching for Gargan/Garigan/Garrigan's from the Cavan Meath area of Ireland. The only success I have had is from DNA matching from Ancestry and My Heritage. During that process I have found two brothers of my Great grandfather Simon Gargan/Garigan/Garrigan who immigrated to Australia. One brother immigrated to America. His name was Peter Garrigan and he married Bridget Clark. I notice that your Thomas married Catherine Clark which could mean that Thomas may be related to our line of the family as brothers tended to marry sisters. I have also found decendants of another brother who stayed in Ireland. If you wouldn't mind, if you have had your DNA done with either of the above sites or are on Gedmatch could you look and see if we are a DNA match please?

Hello Sue, Yes, to having done DNA which is with Ancestry. I actually manage several peoples' DNA from descendants of this branch and am waiting on DNA results from one more as I type. Assuming you are on Ancestry as Sue Gargan, I will take a look. My Ancestry username is wollafi.
My Gargan/Garrigan family were born at Seeharn, Mullagh, Caven and Ellen (Helen) Garrigan (b1864) married James Molloy/Malloy/Maloy in Dundee, Scotland. Her brother, Thomas Garrigan (b1869) married Elizabeth Lynch, also in Dundee, Scotland. This second marriage is the latest DNA I am waiting for.

I've done a check on the DNA but did not see any match with a Sue Gargan or a user by that name. I'm guessing that is not your username?
Also, can yougive me any dates for Simon Gargan, or Peter Garrigan and Bridget Clark? I tried to look them up on Rootsireland.ie but nothing came up in Cavan.

Hi Fiona,
I have checked Ancestry and My Heritage. I could not find you but that may just mean we didn't get the same genes. My sister and my sons are not a DNA match to the decendants of Simon's brother in Ireland but I am. But my sister is a DNA match to the decendants aunty. I did however type in the name "Molloy" in the surname search on both Ancestry and My Heritage and I have a lot of DNA matches to that surname which may be promising.
I have not been able to find any history of Simon or Peter in Ireland. Simon was born in Meath/Cavan in 1836 and died in Orbost Victoria Australia in 1908. Peter was born in 1822 in Ireland and died in 1883 in Juneau in Wisconsin USA. There was also a sister Catherine who married a Rogers from Ireland. Catherine was born in 1826 in Ireland but died in Juneau also. If you wish to communicate further my email is gargan242@gmail.com
