I am looking for Brady or Reilly ancestors in the Ballyconnell area of Cavan.  The 1901 and 1911 census records show my greatgrandfather, John Brady and his wife Ellen (Reilly, daughter of Thomas and Eliza Reilly) living in Kildallan.  Their son, John Andrew, my grandfather, lived with them in Kildallan with his wife, Maggie Reilly).  Maggie died somewhere between 1913 (when my father, Thomas was born) and 1927 when John the father emigrated to Canada with 3 of his children, Ellen, Thomas and Joseph.  The address given on the shipping documents listed their address as Lissanover, so I'm guessing the family moved from Kildallan prior to departure.  Any help is appreciated.

  • I think I found the death index record for Maggie. The year of birth is consistent with the 1911 census. If you want to get a copy, you can write to the GRO www.groireland.ie Fill out their form and provide the quarter/year of death, registration district (Bawnboy) and the volume and page number ( 3 and 31). Cost 4 euros. Location of where they lived would be on the form.
