Looking for information about my family members that were living in Castlederg in the 1860's, their names I know, but I do not know who their family members are. I found that two of their children were born in Castlederg in the 1860's. The names are Alexander Kyle born about 1801, and his wife Elizabeth Jane Sproule born about 1821, Elizabeth went by the name of Ann Jane Sproule while she was living in Castlederg. The Children that were born in Castlederg are Alexander Kyle born in 1866 and Charles Kyle born in 1864. They all went to Canada sometime during the 1880's and they settled in Fitzroy Township in Ontario, and they were recorded in the Ontario Canada 1891census. Alexander Sr. died in 1892 in Fitzroy, and Ann Jane Sproule and her childern were recorded in the Ontario census in 1901. Ann Jane Sproule Kyle died in 1902 in Fitzroy Ontario. They belonged to the Anglican Church in Canada.

Have you tried looking at church records in Urney to see if you can find any additional information? Perhaps if you can find Alexander and Elizabeth?s birth records it will give you their parents? names which may make it easier to search for possible siblings. Also, if you can find their children's baptismal certs another family member may be listed as a sponsor.
Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Here are their websites: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/ and http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42
Lists of these surviving registers can also be found at the National Library of Ireland.
Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864 so any births, deaths or marriages in the family after this date would be recorded in these records. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office in Dublin. Here is their website:

You could also check Griffith?s Valuation for some record of any family that may have remained in the area. This is a property valuation survey that was carried out in Ireland 1848-1864.
