I have learned through DNA testing that I am related to Bridget Mary Carmody (b. 1834) from Ennis. I believe she left the Ennis Workhouse for Sydney, Australia as part of the Orphan Girls Scheme in 1850. Her parents were Thomas and Bridget, who were both listed as dead at the time. I would be grateful for any information anyone might have on this young woman and her family. Our direct Carmody links are with Co Limerick (Kilfinny) and I have always wondered if the Carmody's in Clare are connected. This result leads me to believe there must be some connection.
Thanks,
Mary Ross

Dear Mary
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the long delay in getting back to you.
I hope someone with a connection to the family will be in touch with you. In the meantime, I wanted to invite you to add your ancestor's details to our XO Chronicles. You can learn more about it HERE and it might be another avenue to consider so that your ancestor's details can be seen by others.
Best wishes
Clare Doyle
