My Great Grandfather, Richard GILL was born in Ennis Clare about 1850.  His parents (my great great grandparents) were Partick GILL (a farmer) and Bridget BARRY

Richard GILL emigrated to Australia sometime between 1850 (after he was born) and 1876 (when he was married in Brisbane.  I do not know whether his parents emigrated to Australia with him.  I am attempting to search immigration records to Australia at the moment.

I would greatly appreciate any information I can obtain about Richard Gill, Patrick Gill and Bridget Gill (nee Barry) and their family.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide me.

If you have not done so already, you may want to check the Co. Clare library site. They are the best source for researching Co. Clare genealogy. http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/genealog.htm

Thank you for the advice.  I looked at the library site but unfortunately it didn't reveal anything.  Richard Gill was illiterate so I image this parents were poor.  This will probably make it a little harder to track them down.
