Patrick Haverty married Anna Flannery in Parish Kilfenora 2 May 1850.  Shortly thereafter, Patrick moved to Detroit, Michigan, USA; within a few months, he sent for his wife, Anna and possibly his sister, Anne Haverty Kennedy.  The women then traveled to USA and arrived in Detroit, Michigan about Oct 1851.

Would like to connect to any siblings or parents of Patrick Haverty and Anna Flannery.

  • Hi Christine,

Baptismal records are available for Killfenora from 1836. You can access these through the Church of Latter Day Saints ref. no. 0926065, or through the National Library of Ireland, Pos. 2440.

You could also try checking for more information through the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38).

Hopefully someone living in the community will be able to source more information for you. Feel free to contact us here anythime.

Please make sure you link anyone else in your family who is interested in their Irish heritage to our site - and indeed anyone else you know of Irish heritage.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Christine

My name is Paula and I work and volunteer with the Ireland Reaching Out project. I will try and source what information there is available. We do not have volunteers in this parish yet. How is Patrick Haverty related to you? I was in the Old Church and graveyard today in Kilfenora.  If you don't  mind, I can also put a small article in the local newspaper(which has proved successful previously).  Let me know if you are okay with this.

Best of luck with your research

    Paula.
