Hello, There are a number of Crowes from Killaloe and there are some differences of opinion about Redfield as a generic name it is not specific to one parish. In my one name study I discovered the Redfield related records could well have related to a large country house called Redfield but equally may relate to an anonymous area near Broadford, Killaloe. The house is marked on old Ordnance Survey maps and available at https://webapps.geohive.ie/mapviewer/index.html it takes a bit of fiddling to get familiar with it but it is a great resource for us researchers. Many of these Crowe migrated to Port Philip and beyond. Do you have any dates for Mary Crowe that would help identify which Mary Crowe it is in your records? Hello, Mary Crowe was a witness to the marriage of John Herbert and Hannah Reddan. The marriage took place on 1st March, 1840, the church record of the marriage gives John Herbert's address as Redfield and Hannah Reddan's address as Garraunboy. John Herbert's sister Bridget married Michael Cunneen (2nd marriage for Michael) they settled in Port Phillip. John's daughter Ellen emigrated to Port Phillip in 1859 and was met by an Aunt I presume Bridget Cunneen. For a time Ellen worked on the Hulks in Hobsons Bay, Port Phillip as a maid, she met a Danish emigrant they married and settled in Deniliquin, New South Wales. I live by the side of Port Phillip Bay.
