I am looking for family of John Foley from Clare would have left in the mid 1800's as he was married in the Americas in 1886. I was told he had several brothers and some if not all left Ireland as well. I believe his middle name was Jerry

  • Hi John:

Thanks for your query.  Do you have any idea what parish in County Clare he might have come from?  It would make your search a lot easier.  In addition, parents' names, sibling information, would also be a great help.  If you can come up with some more information,  I can  try to search for you here in Tulla.  Let me know.

    Kind regards,

    Jane

  • Hi,

I am trying to see if other relatives have any info. The only one that had information has since passed and what I do have has come from her. I do know he (John Foley) must have been catholic as we have all been raised catholic and he was married in a catholic church and buried in a catholic cemetery. We believe his middle name was jerry and I also remember hearing one of the brothers was a priest whether that was before or after leaving Ireland I am not sure of.

    Regards,

    Kevin
