I have just started this site in view of finding out who I came from. At this stage I am a novice and would appreciate your help.I only know one name Martin Tuohy born 1837 in Clare,and he ended up in Australia.Any advice would be helpfull.

Dear Garry:
Many thanks for posting on Ireland Reaching Out. You should take a look at the Clare County Library website. They have a lot of useful information and you can look through the Griffith's Valuation and the Tithe Applotment books. In addition, there is a lot of donated materials relating to Births, marriages and deaths. You will also find transcriptions of passenger lists that are particular to County Clare. Do you have either of Martin's parents names? If so, that would be helpful.
