Once again you can try searching for some record of Daniel in Church records. Unfortunately, however, the liklihood of you finding a birth record for him is quite slim, as the reality of of finding documentation pertaining to births/baptisms/marriages/deaths in Ireland prior to 1800 ? particularly in rural areas ? is that they simply may not exist. You may be able to find his marriage cert however, or birth cert for his children, which may hold some new information for you. You may also find a death cert for Winnifred which will confirm if she died over here.

Im also interested in this family, as my line is via Timothy Sheedy, son of Daniel Sheedy and his wife Winnifred Gibbons.  I have also been working on the line of sister, Winnifred Sheedy.

Hello:

   Daniel Sheedy (born c1784) came from Ireland to Upper Canada in 1840.  His wife, Winnifred Gibbons either died in Ireland or on the voyage.

   His children were Mary Sheedy (born c1815) who married 1. John McMahon and 2. Matthew Sheedy; Winnifred Sheedy (c1817) who married Timothy Egan; Timothy Sheedy (c1822); Michael Sheedy (c1824).
