I have traced my great grandparents to the townlands of Granaghan Beg and subsequently Ballycar. My grandmother, Mary Ann Liddy, was baptised on 8 Nov 1882. Her parents, John Liddy and Ann McMahon, were married in the Roman Catholic Church in Newmarket-on-Fergus.
John Liddy was born in Granaghan about 1840 to Michael Liddy and Margaret Woods.
Ann McMahon was born about 1854. Her father was Patrick McMahon.
