Hi,

i am researching the Ohara family from tulla. My direct ancestor Patrick Ohara born ca. 1833 in tulla. His parents were Brian and Catherine Ohara. His mother was apparently born Nelsh.

He emigrated to Australia marring Bridget Talty also county clare, before emigrating to new Zealand.

Bridget was  born ca. 1838 and her father was  Peter Talty.

I look forward to learning more about my ancestors and making contact with fellow decendents

  • I had obtained he nam from his death certificate, but I have found no-one with tha surname  around county Clare from records I have been able to review.

I have been reviewng his marriage certificate from australia and I suspect his mother'smaiden name maybe Walsh.  It is also possible his father's name may  also have an alternative spelling such as Bryan.

  • I am doing research into James O'Hara 1827-1861, married to Catherine Galvin 1824-1897. James was said to be from County Clare. They settled in Connersville, Fayette, Indiana.

In my search for O'Hara s  in County Clare, I found a James (1826-    ) in Glendree, Tulla,  in the 1901 census along with wife (1827-   ). In Griffiths I found a Catherine O'Hara in Glendree, Tulla, plot 53.

Is there any connection to your O'Hara's ?
