The Garvey's lived next to O’Tuaigh’s Service Station in Coose Whitegate in 1899-1950/60's just over the border on R352 into county Galway.
My father and I met The Tuohy's who own the station in 2003. I have since researched family history and would like to share with folks how the Garvey/Tuohy roots have grown in the United States and elsewhere.

Hi John:
Many thanks for your post to Ireland Reaching Out. The best way to reach the Tuohys in Whitegate is to write to them as I do not have an email address for them.
Brian Tuohy is an auctioneer there and his address is: Coose, Whitegate, County Clare, Ireland.
The best of luck with your research. If you have any difficulties contacting, please contact me at tulla@irelandxo.com.
Kind regards,
Jane.

Hello, I sure hope that John O'Connell's offer to share information about the Tuohy family in Whitegate is still available. This is my husband's family, and we have been having problems sorting out the many Tuohy families in that area. Could you please tell me how I might be able to contact John? Thank you, Janet

I have posted here before a few years ago. Researched on a lot of Tuohy families in Woodford and Clonrush Parishes other than my own too. I connect to Martin Tuohy of Coos whose wife was Mary Goonan. I also connect to Pat Tuohy married to Margaret Roonan in Rossmore Guerteeny area. Email jslawrence31@gmail.com Suzanne

Hi, I am also descended from Tuohys from Coose. Great great grandmother was Mary Tuohy born 1878. 3xgreat grandfather was Martin born 1852. He married Honora Banfield/Bonfield. Would love to hear more about the family. My email address is samanthawardle84@gmail.com

Hello friends,
I have just started researching my Tuohy ancestors from Clonrush but am terribly confused by all the Tuohys that seemed to exist back in the day. My 3x great grandfather was Patrick Tuohy (spelt Tuohey on his arrival to Australia in 1858). His parents were Lawrence Tuohy and Mary Flanagan. They both died in 1846, apparently murdered, but I have no idea why or by whom. Patrick was just a boy (11) at the time and he and his brother Thomas were possibly taken in by an elderly couple, who they used to row to mass every day (a clue to where they might have lived). I believe Lawrence's parents might have been Rev Patrick Tuohy and Mary Sullivan (both born 1780). If any of this rings true with anyone, I would love to hear from you. I
