~Here’s a question that requires an educated answer!
My ancestor came from Aghada Cork between Curragh and Glenbradagh or on the boarders of. In looking for the length of time they lived there and the length of time they stayed there and if they are still there or a descendent is still there I came across a book that lists the return of property to the original owner or leaser of that property called : Return of owners of land or one acre and upwards by Aexander Thom, Dublin,  April 20th. 1876
I came across a Michael Walsh of  Curragh, Charleville
81 acres value of  Value in 1876 of 56  pounds 10 shillings
Is this my relative? The name fits Curragh fits but Charleville  doesn’t fit It’s several miles north How would I go about checking this out
Thank You

  • Hello Ramon,

I'm afraid that I can't give you an educated answer, I hope that one of the other volunteers will be able to do that.

However if you go to a site www.askaboutireland.ie and click on Griffiths Valuation.  this will take you to a search bar and put in Michael Walsh, Co. Cork.

This will tell you just how many Michael Walshes that were renting land in Cork in mid 19th century.
