Looking for information relating to Thomas Driscoll - born Cork 1831. Thomas was sentenced in 1848 (age 17 years) and transported to Tasmania in 1852. According to the records his father's name was Michael and he had a brother, Cornelius. No other information apart from he was a Roman Catholic and a farm labourer. In Australia the family became seafarers (ship captains). I looked at the Augherdown parishes and various sites and could find reference to many many Michaels and Cornelius"s. Any suggestions for further searching would be appreciated. Thomas was my great grandfather - my grandfather the 3rd youngest of over 20 children in 2 marriages.

Hope someone can help

You may want to look at www.irishgenealogy.ie  This site has many Co. Cork church records. I have seen records for Aughadown parish.
