Hi, I hope someone can help me.

I'm looking for information about Thomas Crowe and Margaret O’ Donnell, who were the parents of William Crowe (1837- D 3 Jan 1931 buried Tower Hill cemetery Warrnambool Victoria Australia.)

In 1855 William Crowe migrated to Australia, landing in Adelaide then moved to Belfast (Port Fairy in Victoria) he lived in Koroit, Victoria

 On 20 April 1863  at Belfast Catholic Church (Port Fairy, Victoria) Catherine Aldworth (of Koroit Aged 21, born County Limerick, Ireland) married William Crowe (of Koroit Aged 26, born County Clare or Cork Ireland) in 1863. Catherine was the daughter of Robert Aldworth & Margaret Downey of the St leger family (Doneraile House)

  • Hi Robert due to the timeframe you are searching you will have to rely on Church records which you will find at www.rootsireland.ie (pay site) There is a baptism showing for a Catherine Aldworth in Co Cork in 1845. The Church records are due to come online in July from the National Library in Dublin.
    www.nationalarchives.ie for 1901 & 1911 Censuses, quiet a few entries for your surnames in Co Cork.
    This site also has Tithe Applotment & Griffiths Valuation record which show a Robert Aldworth in the Townland of Glancam in the Parish of Grenagh Co Cork.

  • Robert, I am a relative of yours living in Brisbane. When visiting my first cousin at Noosa last week I discovered she has a treasure trove of material (orginal) from William Crowe. We are great great grandaughters of William and Catherine. My cousin has correspondence from another relative who did quite a bit of research on the Irish connections. How can we contact each other?
