Greetings from Nepean (Ottawa) Ontario, Canada.

I am trying to break thru on Ireland tracing where my ancestors who migrated to the London East-end circa 1845 to 1851.

Looking for two marriages of a Thomas Murray (born 1817-18 Cork **): before 1848 to a Jane Neville (1820 - 1851 born Cork **) and to Catherine Mahoney in 1852-53 (aged 37 in 1871 London census) probably the daughter of Dennis and Ellen (nee Callaghan) Mahoney.

The second marriage was probably a desperate afair on his behalf, widowed in late 1851 with a 4 year old daughter Jane.

I have a potential baptism of Catherine (all unconfirmed) in March1837.

Full civil registration started in 1864. Prior to 1864, you have to rely on available church records. There are two sites which have Co. Cork church records. www.irishgenealogy.ie is a free site which has records for the Diocese of Cork and Ross. The other site is Roots Ireland which is a subscription site.

I looked on both sites and did not locate a Thomas Murray marriage to either of the two ladies.in your note.
