According to the 1901 census my Grandfather Michael Murray Age 24 was a Farm laborer for his Uncle James Murray Age 60. It also stated that he was married. House hold #1 in Ballybranaugh West. District Electoral Divison Lisgoold. In late September I was in Lisgoold, the day I was there I was given directions to a farm just outside of Lisgoold. No one was at the farm. His Brother My Great Grandfather was John Murray.
Where are the Parish Records for Ballycurrany? I would like to find information on James Murray, Wife's name, number of children / names? Where is the Farm? Finding the information on James will help me verify the information I have on Great Grandfather John.
There are Murray's in the Lisgoold area. One last thing James Murray does not show up on the 1911 census.
Sorry I didn't mean to make this so long.
Thanks in advance

Mike:
Below is the link to the parish register for Lisgoold RC parish which includes Ballycurrany
http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0075
I searched Roots Ireland for Lisgoold parish from 1860-1880 and did not find a marriage record for a James Murray. I did find an 1863 record in Killeagh RC parish which is two parishes to the east of Lisgoold. See transcription below. I would treat this record as a possible lead.
Although the 1901 census showed James was married, it is possible that his wife was deceased. I looked for a James Murray civil death index record bewteen 1901-1911 in the Middleton registration district but none was found.
