Joseph Hewitt (Huot) married Hester (Esther) Bourk?, who is said to have come from Ballymoney. It is reasonable to believe that Joseph lived nearby, given the early days of transportation. This couple had at least one child (Daniel). They were Protestants (Anglican or English Church in Ontario). Daniel is said to be born in Dublin, 1845. Emigrated sometime shortly thereafter, living (and dying) in Bastard twp., Leeds County, Ontario. Interested in info re: marriage, childrens' baptisms/ birth dates, ancestry of parents.

Hi,
Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone with information makes a connection with you and helps you to further your research.
In the meantime, have you tried looking at church records for more information? Most surviving Church of Ireland records are still held by the local clergy, although some are in the National Archives of Ireland and others are in the Representative Church Body Library in Dublin. Here are their websites: http://www.nationalarchives.ie/ and http://ireland.anglican.org/about/42
Lists of these surviving registers can also be found at the National Library of Ireland.
If Daniel was born in Dublin City you may be able to find some record of his birth at http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/
