Looking for the ancestry of Timothy Driscoll born in 1829 in Bandon who emigrated to London (Westminster). I have Timothy married to Elizabeth on the UK 1851 census. He was a printer. I have not been able to trace when he came to London or who his parents were. Any help would be appreciated as I live in Sydney and find it hard to trace some of this stuff from here.

Hi Karen,
Thank you for your message.
Did you know that Catholic records from Bandon parish are available free of charge at
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/
According to the Irish TImes website Catholic records for the parish start as early as 1794 so hopefully you may be able to find something pertaining to Timothy.
You could also check for record of the family in the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. There are two:
The Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1838) found at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
and Griffith?s Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
Kind regards,
