Tracing John McCarthy & Hannah Geary

John, it is very difficult with the surname being McCarthy as it is a very common name in Cork. Had a look at the 1901 Census for any possible matches but nothing apparent. The census for 1901 & 1911 can be viewed at www.nationalarchives.ie You say John McCarthy was born in Factory Hill which is Glanmire Co Cork. When he married do you know where he resided - City or County. Do you have a birth record for Hanora McCarthy 11th Feb 1876 as this would give residence place at time of birth reg.
I did see a baptism record on www.irishgenealogy.ie for a Hannah Geary 17th April 1853 in Diocese of Cork & Ross, Cork South Parish - parents Michael Geary & Margt Barry

Do you think that just having the date of birth will do when ordering a certificate or do I need other information??

This is the only apparent record I can see for the year.
