Hello

I am currenlty trying to trace my relatives, amnd was trying to find the marriage of John and Johanna.  Any help would be fantastic. Attached is the address given on the marriage by the grandparents when Johanna (daughter of John and Johanna) married Patrick Tobin in Dublin.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

It does not appear that marriage records are available for the parish of Castlehaven and Myross.

I will alert our parish liaison in Myross regarding your message.

No. They would have posted here. Let me contact our HQ. Possibly the Myross parish liaison is not active.

  • Samantha,

There are no Marriage records available for the Parish of Myross and Castlehaven going back to 1845. Since the marriage certificate states that the father lived in Castlehaven we can assume that the O’ Regan family lived in the Castlehaven side of the parish and not the Myross side.  According to the Griffith’s Valuation of circa 1851 there were two John O’Regans living there at that time – one in the townland of Castlehaven and the other in the townland of LaherdaneMore. Both were farmers. There was also a Johannah O ‘Regan living in the townland of Fahouragh whose only possession was a house as well as a John Finn who also lived in the townland of Castlehaven.  I have searched the graveyard records for Castltlehaven Old Cemetery and found one entry for an O’ Regan. This can be viewed on the website historicgraves.com/castlehaven. This would have more than likely been the burial ground of the all the O’ Regans but many of them would not have had headstones. I suggest you check the the 1901 and 1911 Cenus to see if the families are still in these townlands.
