Timothy O'Sullivan, died Aug 11, 1875 in Halifax Co, Nova Scotia, Canada, aged 98(born 1777). Grave stone says: Baerhaven c Cork ILD
Katherine, wife of Timothy, died Mar 10, 1880, age 102, born 1778. Grave stone says: Baerhaven c Cork ILD.
Michael O'Sullivan, died Dec. 2, 1854, aged 39 years. Born in 1815. Grave stone says: Baerhaven c Cork ILD. I believe he was the son of Timothy and Katherine and died at sea. They immigrated with at least one child, possibly two. Katherine was a midwife. They lost the "O" when land was granted in Nova Scotia(land still known as Sullivan's Hill). Possibly a clerical error as the "O" was on their grave stones.
I am decendant of Timothy and Katherine, Kathleen Sullivan-Dunlop and looking for information and or relatives still in Ireland. They settled in Ketch Harbour and then Herring Cove, Nova Scotia, outside Halifax, NS.

Hi Kathleen,
Thank you very much for your message.
?Baerhaven? refers to Castletown Bearhaven on the Beara Peninsula in CO. Cork.
Castletown Bearhaven is the name of a town and also a Catholic parish. You can see the parish on the map here:
http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/counties/rcmaps/corkswrc.htm
In terms of civil parish divisions, the town falls under the parish of Killaconenagh:http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/fuses/townlands/index.cfm?fuseaction=TownlandsInCivil&civilparishid=241&civilparish=Killaconenagh&citycounty=Cork
Catholic church records from Castletown Bearhaven are actually available online free of charge here:

You can see what records are available from the parish here:
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/
You could also try searching for O? Sullivans in the land records pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century, using the civil parish name.
There are two:
The Tithe Applotment Books (1823-1838) found at http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/home.jsp
and Griffith?s Valuation (1848-1864) found at http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
You could also try looking in the census records of 1901/1911 to see if there were any O?SUllivan?s still in the area at that time
