My Grandmother, Alice Stack, was born in Ballygrace house in the townland of that name. Her parents were Denis Stack  (from Bregoge) & Margaret Greene. They were passed down the farm from her father James Barry Greene Born approx 1851.

James was married to Mary Philomena Reardon (or Riordan) on 28 Apr 1877 in Knockainey, Co.Limerick, Their children were:

Maria b.1878 & married Edward Murphy

Margaret b.1879 & Married Denis Stack (My Great Grandparents) d.1950 High Park, Limerick

Michael James b.1880

Deborah Anne b.1883 d.1954 High Park, Limerick

Joseph Phil b.1887 & married Hanna Murphy

James b. 1891.

I would appriciate any information the ancestors of James Barry Greene and any of the other listed people.

  • Hi Mark,

I have a John  Stack (born 1872 in Bregogue) in my tree who married Mary O'Brien. I assume there is a relationship to Dennis Stack. Possiably brothers?

    Thanks

  • Thanks John,

Yes I reckon they were Brothers. Their Parents were, I think, Denis Stack d.1909 & Deborah Mackessy b.1829 d.1911. in Bregogue, Buttevant.

Denis Stacks d1909 parentes were Maurice Stack & Catherine Sheehan

Deborah McKasseys parents John McKessey & Mary Keeffe I think
