Hi there,

I'm looking for information on Cornelius 'Con' Kelleher. My grandmother said he was originally from Gortnagishagh. He was born c.1841. He had a sister named Kate who married O'Sullivan. He moved to Mogeely, east Cork sometime before 1901 and he married Bessie Quirke. He then had four children, Hannah, Lizzie, Patrick and Mary.

I was wondering if there was any way i could find the names of his parents?

Regards,

I looked on the Roots Ireland indexes and found 3 Cornelius Kelleher baptismal records from 1838-1842 in the Ballyvourney RC records. One of the three was in 1841 and the father was Jeremiah and the mother was Honora. I was trying to find out her surname but encountered some issues with their web site. Not sure if the 1841 record is correct since you said circa.

Roots is  a pay site and they now require you to get a subscription to see the transcriptions of  church records.

If you can wait, the National Library plans to put all RC parish records online for free searching in the summer of 2015. You can then search the Ballyvourney records yourself. Go to our main page and check out the Press and Media info at the top of the page.
