My greatgrand parents, Timothy Sheehan and Mary Welch (Walsh), came to Boston in 1873 and 1875. I believe Mary's parents, John Walsh and Nora Carroll, lived in Clonfert, Cummerduff. One of their children, Honora, was bon in Kanturk in 1866 (Ireland civil registration indexes) and one, Catherine, was baptised in Meelin (Cummerduff) in 1870 (Mallow Heritage Centre).
I am looking for any information about either family. For example, I do not know Timothy's parents name; I know he died in 1901 in Boston but have not been able to get his death certificate. Mary died in 1911 and I have been to their grave site.

There is a record of the baptism of Mary Walsh with parents John Walsh & Honora Carroll in Cork on www.rootsireland.ie/ (which charges to view the full record). The year is 1839.

There is no Clonfert or Kanturk in the list of parishes for that record (Cork North & East) but I found that it was Newmarket RC parish.

There are 61 Timothy Sheehan birth/baptism records for 1835 + - 5 years; I couldn't find him in the US census to get a birth year for him.

Timothy is in the 1980 and 1900 US census. The 1880 census shows his age as 45 and the 1900 census shows him born in January 1837 and is 63. Different dob but same wife and kids. I've looked at the rootsireland site before but don't really understand how it works; I don't mind paying for it but I don't want to pay for 61 Timothy Sheehans. I will check it out however.

There are 75 Timothy Sheehans born 1831 + - 6 years; do you have a county?
