My great grandfather was baptised in Conna parish in 1857, but I think his family were from Tallow (at least later on).  The address on the baptism record was Curriglass. His name was John Joseph Heafy (Hafey) and his parents were Daniel Heafy (born about 1839) and Ellen Walsh (born about 1831). He emigrated to Australia in about the 1870s, but I’ve not found a record of that. He was certainly in Australia in 1880.

If anyone knows anything about the Heafy or Walsh family from that area, I’d be very appreciative. Regards Julie

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I located a sister named Mary. She was born in 1867. Below are the civil birth record and a transcription of the baptismal record. The family lived in either Curraglass East or Curragleass West in Mogeely civil parish.
