Ballymoney civil parish is part of the Roman Catholic parish of Bandon, so it may be a good idea to llok at parish records in Bandon for information. A useful website for Catholic records is the Irish Times where they give you an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Bandon, follow this link:

Irish Genealogy have recently started a project to upload Irish church records to their websites free of charge. It is an ongoing project so only a few counties have been completed so far. Although Cork is not completely uploaded, records from the Diocese of COrk and Ross have been uploaded. Fortunately, Bandon parish is part of this Dioceses. You can search these records here:

You could also check for record of the family in the land acts pertaining to Ireland in the 19th century. There are two:

Finally, have you tried searching in the 1901/1911 census records to see if there were any family in the area at the time? http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

Perhaps you could try checking in the local phone books to see if there are still some Goods in the area, or perhaps you could place a message in a more local forum such as a newsletter or newspaper in the hope that some possible relatives reach out to you.

Edward Hayes Good was the son of John Good of Crossmahon (near Macroom) and Catherine Hayes (daughter of Edward Hayes Dunmanway. The following was reported in the local newspaper 28th November 1826. "Edward Hayes Good of Crossmahon to Anne the youngest daughter of the late John Ballard of this City". John and Catherine (Hayes) Good (1758-1830) are buried in Moviddy Church graveyard. John is on the grave slab but only Catherine's details are given. I came across your posting when trying to confirm if Edward Good of Phale was the relevant Edward Hayes Good. I am completing a report on the remainder of the family but so far not many of those Goods surviving here. Edward had two brothers John and Henry and at least two sisters. Mary the 2nd daughter married Thomas Cripps (John Cripps in Marriage licence bonds. More soon.

I am interested in Anne Ballard born 1792 as her brother, James Broughton Ballard, born 1786, was my g g g grandfather, so I am very interested to learn anything at all about their father John Ballard, who married Anne Broughton.  Was his name ever spelt Baleard? (That is how it is written on my skeletal family tree). Many thanks for your help.
