I am researching John Regan who died in New York City, 24 May 1906 (US sources indicate he was born 1846 - 1850). According to his death certificate, his parents were John Regan & Julia Murphy. According to his headstone in Calvary Cemetery in Woodside, NY, he is from Doneraile, County Cork.
According to the Irish parish records on findmypast, the only John baptised 1840-1860 by parents John Regan & Julia Murphy in all of County Cork is 1 family in Ballyclough Catholic parish (which is adjacent to the Doneraile Catholic parish). The 4 children baptised from this family are: John 1840, Eugene 1841, Ellen 1844, and Timothy 1849.
Any insight would be appreciated. Is this 1 family or 2 families? Ballyclough vs Doneraile? Thanks

Hi there Dennis. John Ragan (Regan) was baptized in Buttevant, County Cork on 21 September 1845. Unfotunately, he is not yours. He died 11 October 1935 at the age of 90 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, USA.
