I am researching the family of Thomas Hennessey and Nancy Anne Carroll and their children who sailed in 1825 with the Peter Robinson Settlers to Ontario, Canada. Thomas Walker who owned a brewery in Fermoy was a reference for them to travel with the PR Settlers. They rented a house from Thomas Walker and Thomas Hennessey worked for Thomas Walker. Nancy Anne Carroll was born in nearby Castlehyde as it was written she was a native of that place on her gravestone. We think Thomas Hennessey was born in Fermoy or Castlehyde or nearby. I would appreciate any records or research tips or information you can share on these people. Thank you. Elsie Hickey Wilson, Wisconsin, USA

  • Elsie:

The Fermoy RC records do not begin until 1827 so likely church records are not available for the family.

I don't know if you are on Facebook but there is a Ireland Reaching Out Peter Robinson Settlers in Canada Group on Facebook.
