Hi,

Iam searching for Buckley Family information. Thomas Buckley with his new bride Mary nee Walsh and his younger brother Daniel left Grenagh in 1838 bound for New South Wales, Australia. Thomas was a Wheelright and Daniel wasa Blacksmith.

They settled here in Australia and raised a large family. I was in Grenagh only three weeks ago and sadly was unaware then that this was where the brothers came from.

Hopeing someone can assist

Rosemary Owens.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Unfortunately, the RC records for Grenagh parish start in 1840 so records for Thomas and Mary would not be available. I did check on Roots Ireland just in case Mary was from a different parish but I did not locate a marriage record.

I checked the 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for the civil parish and there werr many Buckley and Walsh records. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/cork/grenagh.htm

Have you considered autosomal DNA testing?

Let me know if you have any questions.
