I am researching my Callahan / Callaghan ancestors from the County Kerry / Cork area.
My 3x Great Grandfather John Callahan/Callghan and his wife Mary Nagle lived in Gortderrig, Doocarig, Kerry and many of his children were born there, including my 2x Great Grandfather Timothy Callahan. John and Mary were married 10 May 1853 in Rathmore Parish, County Kerry.
John's 1901 Census record says he was born in County Kerry while the 1911 Census says he was born in County Cork.
John's brother Timothy Callahan/Callaghan married Catherine Sullivan 4 Feb 1857 in Clonmeen Parish in the Cloyne Diocese. I have started to research Timothy's children to try and learn more about his brother (my 3xG-Grandfather) John and thier parents John Callaghan and Mary Cremins.
I founf a birth record for Catherine Callaghan, daughter of Timothy Callaghan and Catherine Sullivan, 9 Nov 1865 in the Districy of Millstreet in County Cork. The record says the family was in Kilcorney County and gives another name I think may be the townland. It appears to be Carrigduo or Carrigdeen. I have not been able to locate any such townland in www.townlands.ie and was hoping someone could help.
The link to the record is below:

Any other information or help on the Callaghan family would also be welcome.

I believe the townland is Carrigduff in Kilcorney civil parish.
I did locate the 1911 death record for John https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_retu… and Mary in 1904

Roger,
I wanted to say thank you for the information and apologize for not responding sooner. I was finishing up some work and packing....we landed in Dublin on Wed and will be heading to Kerry and Cork early next week. You have given me another location to try and visit.
If you have any suggestion on how to find out more information on my 3x Great Grandfather John Callahan/Callghan's parents (John Callaghan and Mary Cremins...not certain of her maiden name), I would appreciate the recommendations. I would also like to learn more about his wife Mary Nagle's family

Hi Rick, I have Cremin from Crinnaloo, Kilcorney and I wonder if we might be connected? If you are interested in exploring please let me know. I also have O Callaghan as witnesses to my GPs wedding which i believe I’ve made progress on. Best Wishes Liz
