Tried for thirty + years to find anything on Catherine Carney. Last week I found a Catherine Kearny born 1864 in Kildorrery, who has a father called Felix,, this paternal link ties in with her marriage certificate. Her mum might be Catherine. There was also a Cornelius Carney present at the wedding (brother, grandad?). We were told she was from Charleville but having researched and been to the library there, there is NO evidence of her placement there. Can anyone take this further??? Will be over there after the Killarney Marathon in July.

her Parents Denis Kearney & Kate Meade
her Godparents Stephen Meade & Kate Sullivan
unsure of address owing to the poor handwriting.
there were many Kearney's and Meade's in the parish at that time but we do know of any
living relatives.

I am puzzled by the word of mouth history in the family Katy Carney from Charleville, would it be very likely she moved to Charleville at one point, even though crucially there is no parish or census record of her there. As I might have said Cornelius Carney witnessed the wedding but there is no record of him in your village. The date of birth 1864 is close but I don't have an exact month date of birth and it is odd that her dad is Felix IF, IF they are not from Kildorrery, afterall it isn't a common first name. Is there easy visual access to the record on visiting in July?

Hi Lena, I am running the Killarney Marathon on Saturday it would be good to visit the records on the afternoon as I retun to Dublin Airport. Can you confirm that this is ok and if it is, how do we meet up in Kildorrery.

I have just posted on this message board and came across yours. We are also looking for Kearney,Adelia/Bridget born in 1826 a bit earlier than your search. Have a read of my post because she may have had a sister Catherine and brother cornelius ao maybe there is a connection there and you could be related to my husband somehow???
