Convict James Keating arrived Australia 1836 on "Captain Cook" 111

Looking for info re James Keating who was tried at Cork - arrived Australia 1836 on "Captain Cook" 111.

Hi Jill, James Keating was the eldest son of my gr gr gr gr grandfather, Wiliam Keating of Ballyguyroe South in the parish of Farahy, North county Cork. kKildorrery is the nearest town. James was born in 1784 and was 52 when he was transported to Australia on the Captain Hook. I have compiled a family tree which I have posted on a My Heritage website detailing the descendants of Wiliam Keating (b 1750) and Mary Ryan (b 1760). I have included the descendants do James Keating that I have been able to find in Australia as well as descendants of other Kildorrery Keatings. James has a nephew, my gr gr grandfather, Michael Keating, whose eldest son Wiliam Bermingham Keating emigrated to Australia in the late 1800s. He also had a daughter Lizzie who married Charles Joyce in Melbourne in 1903. They are all listed in the family tree. I have managed to pinpoint where James Keating lived in 1831 as he was listed in the Tithe applotment books of that date. I also found the relevant Griffiths Survey map from the early 1850s identifying which houses were occupied by James' siblings in Ballyguyroe South at that time. There is limited information about James' wife Johanna Dwyer. My understanding is that she died in the late 1840's before his children joined him in Campbeltown in 1849. I don't know why his youngest son Thomas did not also emigrate to Australia with his brothers and sisters. He would only have been 14 years old. I hope I have been able to add a little to your knowledge of the family history.
