My Great-Great-Grandfather, John Walsh, was from Graigue and married my Great-Great-Grandmother, Honora Cummins, on 18 Feb.1840, in the Kildorrery Church. They had 3 children that I know of: Edmond (1843) James (1848) and Margaret (1851). James was my Great-Grandfather and he married Johanna Carey (born 1844 to Sylvester Carey & Mary Rowan) on 18 Feb. 1872, in the Church at Doneraile. They had 10 children that I know of: Mary (1873) Honora (1874) Hannah (1875) Patrick (1877) Ellen (1878) Julia (1879) Bridget (1882) John (1883) Katherine (1886) and James (1888). James & Johanna emigrated in 1905 to the U.S. after daughter Mary and my Grandmother, Bridget (Delia) had already done so. Johanna died in 1907; James in 1923. I would love to hear from anyone who might be related. Many thanks!

The CAREY family from Kildorrery are prominent in my SULLIVAN tree. Ellen CAREY married Thomas SULLIVAN in Kildorrery on Nov 20 1830.

I only know for certain from my Carey ancestors of my Great-Grandmother Johanna Walsh (Carey), baptised 5 Sept. 1842 in Mitchelstown, County Cork, father Sylvester Carey, mother Mary Rowan. They also had at least one son: Patrick Carey, baptised on 5 Mar. 1850. When they moved to Kildorrery I'm not certain, but Sylvester is recorded in Griffith's Valuation being in the Kildorrery area in the early 1850's.

Thanks, Tom. Maybe we'll find a link further down the track!
Ellen CAREY and Thomas SULLIVAN had four children: William b1833, John b1839, Mary b1840 and Ellen b1853. Ellen Snr died sometime after Ellen Jnr's birth and Thomas took Ellen Jnr (my g-grandmother) to London then to join his three older children. Ellen Jnr and her children migrated to Australia in 1912.
