I am looking for family/birth/marriage records for my 2nd great grandfather, Thomas Donovan; he and his family immigrated to Cleveland, Ohio, USA in the 1920s.  According to his death certificate, he was born in Kildorrery on 17 Feb 1871, and his parents were John Donovan and Margaret O'Bryan.  His wife was Mary Anne Murphy, born in Macroom in 1873, and their son (my great grandfather) Edward Thomas was born in Queenstown (Cobh) in 1908.

Any help you can provide on the Donovan/O'Bryan family ancestry from Kildorrery would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

    There is a marriage record of John Donovan & Mary O'Bryan in Cork in 1868 on www.rootsireland.ie/

    You need to purchase credit to access the full record but it will give you parish and MAYBE the parents' names to help you work back further.

    There are 19 Mary Murphys born 1873 in Cork - 1 in Kildorrery but none in Macroom!

    found the baptismal record of Thomas Donovan, he was baptised on 18-02-1871 in Kildorrery


    Church His parents were John Donovan & Margaret Brien of Kildorrery


    His Godparents were John Finn & Hanora Donovan.


    Could not find a marriage record for John & Margaret, the records for that period were poor with 1 year having nothing atall entered.


    We had a number of Donovan families in the Parish but none that i know of at the moment, if i find anything more will let you know.
