Hi,

my name is Cornelius (Con) O'Neill, my grandfather I think is on the 1901 census as Con a O'Neill, 18 years of age and a mechanical Engineer, He subsequently married Frances Moriarty from Castletownbere, moved to Cork City where my father was born and then moved to Glasnevin in Dublin.

I would appreciate if you could let me know if any of the family are still around

  • Hi

    Thank you for your message.

Have you tried checking the 1911 census for any of your grandfather's relatives?

Valuations office in Dublin (http://www.valoff.ie) will have a record of the land registry from 1855 to modern times. This will assist in seeing what happened to the various family memebrs and what happened to any land they may have owned  (as it usually passed on to a relation).

You might try the contacting the local parish offices or newspapers for some assistance as well.
