Hi there,
I have traced my GGG Grandfather to Castletownbere.and have hit the proverbial brick wall. He was a soldier and I suspect he was stationed at Bere Island.
Here is a link to the birth of his son in 1822 http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/a303e20155788
Could anyone tell me if they know if any records exist that might help me to get back any further.
Many thanks
janglo

Hi there,
The English archives has more than 800 muster books and pay lists of Irish county militia and volunteer regiments WO 13/2574 3370, dating from the end of the 18th century to the late 19th century.
Hope you find him there,
Anne Dennehy
