  • Hi thanks for you message and interest in Ireland Reaching Out.

Do you have any more information on the Hennessy's/Cotter's that you can post?

Do you know of any parents names, siblings, children etc? Did they emigrate? If so when and where to? What religion were they?

The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you.

Here are some websites that may help you in your search for information:

The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/

The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx

    US National Archives/Immigration info: http://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/

    Family Search: https://familysearch.org/

CENSUS RECORDS There is lots of useful information to be found in the 1901 and 1911 census records. You can find this here: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/search/

I hope this helps. Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching.  Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.

Please be patient - as our programme has only begun to rollout across the island of Ireland and volunteers in some areas may not yet be organized.

    Kind regards,
