I am sorry if this seems a stupid question, I still striving with Irish records, so sorry if this is basic and I should know this.

I am in to Gritthith's evaluation (I think about 1852 for KIlmurry, Cork) and I am trying to plot locations on a modern map against those listed in Gritthith. Most are listed in the Parish of Kilmurry and then mention Muskerry West(Barony) and Macroom (Poor law union).

Who administered the poor law Union (Is this Workhouse?), would any records exist from that?

The Barony I assume is "Landlord" (probably absent), But are there any of those records still in existance?

  • There's a slider bar in the top rh corner of the Griffiths maps that allows you overlay a modenr map on the contemporaneous one.
