Looking for further information. Honors Keefe married John Cronin in 1800's. Patrick Cronin (1804-1864) married Johanna Power also in 1800's .The two families weren't related (I hope) because their children married each other...Son John Cronin (1831-1908)married Johanna Cronin. (1829-1888)

Also looking for information on Mary Anastacia Clennan (1858-1925)...daughter of John Clennan and Mary Eliza Kinsella.

  • Cronin:

Before I pass this message to our parish liaison for Kilworth, just wanted to verify that they were from Kilworth parish.

Did the marriage between John and Johanna occur in Ireland or elsewhere?

  • Thank you for your quick response ! They did belong to Kilworth parish and were married in Ireland. John's parents were John and Honora and Johanna's parents were Patrick and Johanna. Johanna possibly had siblings named Nicholas and Mary.

  • Barbara:

The records for Kilworth RC parish start in 1829 for baptisms and 1830 for marriages so records for the marriages of the parents would not be available.

I did verify that Johanna had a brother Nicholas 1832 and a sister Mary 1839 plus a brother John 1833. There could have been others but only those three were on Roots Ireland.

I looked at the 1852 Griffiths Valuation head of household listings to try to find John or Patrick Cronin in one of the four civil parishes that relate to Kilworth RC parish. The only record I located was a John Cronin in Ballyhindon townland in Kilcrumper civil parish. Possibly this is the father of the 1831 John.
