Looking for info on my gr gr grandparents, Patrick Daley, born about 1817 in Galway. Married Julia (Moran?) about 1838 in Galway.
3 children born in Ireland - Thomas F. (about 1840), Mary Ann (about 1842), and Catherine (about 1846).
According to his obituary, Patrick left Ireland about 1848 and came to USA (Lynn, Massachusetts). HIs wife Julia and children followed him to the USA about 1849-1850.
They had 2 more children, both born in Lynn, MAssachusetts, USA - Edward, born about 1852 and Sarah, born 1854.
Patrick died 8 Jan 1883 in Lynn, Massachusetts USA
Julia died 2 Sept 1898 in Lynn, Massachusetts USA.
Patrick and Julia are bured in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lynn, Mass. USA. An inscription on the headstone states Patrick is a native of Loughrea, County Galway, Irealnd.
Julia's obituary reads:
Mrs. Julia Daley,
widow of Patrick Daley died at her home, 56 Pleasant Street Court today, aged 79 years. She was born in County Galway, Ireland where she married Patrick Daley. In 1848 her husband was driven from the country on account of belonging to an Irish society, and his property was confiscated by the government. He came to America, and in the following year Mrs. Daley joined him and they took up their residence in Lynn. Mr. Daley died in 1865. Mrs. Daley was a very charitable woman and a member of St. Mary’s Sodality. She leaves two sons, Thomas F. and Edward, and three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Sarah) Hurley, Mrs. Mary Madden, and Mrs. Kate (Catherine) Hunt.

Have you tried looking in church records from Loughrea parish for more information?
Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available.
